History
In the Spring of 1986 the fund awarded a modest grant of $500 to one Boston Public High School senior. Since that time the number of scholarships and the amounts have increased so that recently the size of our awards has grown and the number of recipients has increased. In addition, each year we award a grant to the Community Music Center, an organization supported by The College Club of Boston for many years.
From a March 10, 1986 Letter To Members:
We are asking each member to contribute a minimum of five dollars- the price of a lipstick or less than the cost of lunch at Brigham's.Presently, scholarship funds are raised from the endowment income, various Club activities and contributions from members and friends. Gifts of appreciated stock are also appropriate donations to the Scholarship Fund.
